Every Dugdugii piece is individually hand-painted by skilled Pakistani craftspeople. No two pieces are exactly alike.

In a small Pakistani workshop, each piece is cast in a mould, bisque-fired, then painted brushstroke by brushstroke before its final glaze firing. The speckles, the slight wobble of a line, the way a flower leans: these are the marks of the people who painted it.
